Guhagar is situated on west coast of india. It is situated between Sahyadri mountain range and Arabian sea. Surrounded by an area called KOKAN (A narrow strip of 720 Kilometer land running parallel to Arabian coast, only in the state of Maharastra is called KOKAN).A word GUHAGAR means cave house in local language.Guhagar is a scenic town with hilly terrain.A perfect tropical paradise. It is even called a temple town. To name few, Ancient hindu temple of Vyadeshwar , temple of durgadevi, temple of Lord Ganesh or Kopri Narayan mandir .
Guhagar beach ( about 6 kilometer long ) is one of the main tourist destination, and is a unique places to enjoy Konkani culture. Long lonely beach with silky white sand is a perfect gatway to rural tourism. It happenes to be a mojor attraction to holiday maker. This uncontaminated and secluded virgin beach is simply addictive to almost all the people visiting this small town.
Comprising of waterfalls, mountains, spectacular sunset view on beach, temple and lush green valley during monsoon season Guhagar offers you splendid traveling experience. Guhagar is well famous for its tropical fruits like Alphonso mangoes, coconuts ("Mohacha Naral" is sweet like sugarcain juice ) cashewnuts, jackfruits, betel nuts and large variety of fresh sea food. Marathi is main language spoken here and Hindi and English is understood by many people.
Temparture varies from 18 degree Celsius to 39 degree Celsius. From June first week to August last week it rains almost every day ( Rainfal during this monsoon period is average 150 inches).It is very humid across entire year. Best time to visit is November to February because the temperature is on lower side.

Guhagar has a maximum yearly temperature of 34°C while has a minimum yearly temperature of 18°C. Monsoon is very severe during the period June to October. The relative humidity is more in summer as the Arabian Sea is in west coast.
Guhagar beach offers a comfortable place for sunbath during summer. Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated here during September with much pomp and show.
Best season is in Winter i.e. November to February, leaving heavy rainy months June and July.
